Solar Panels

Solar Panel Energy

While we have all heard of solar panels, few of us understand how they work or even how they convert the natural energy they absorb to energy we can use.

In this guide, we will explore some of the basic physics behind solar panels energy.
While solar panels may be a relatively new invention in terms of age, solar energy has been harnessed for various uses for thousands of years.

How Do Solar Panels  Appliances Work?

Solar powered appliances work on a series of heat engines and use photovoltaic’s (a method of generating electrical power by converting solar radiation to current electricity). While solar power is rarely used (less than 0.1% of all energy is solar), the sun could actually power the worlds electrical needs 35,000 times.

What Are Solar Panels  Appliances Used For?

Solar appliances are used everywhere. Some of the first solar panels were used in space to power the various appliances on board, as the panels are 100% safe. For this reason, solar panels can be found from the deepest point of Antarctica, all the way through to the dusty outbacks of Australia.

Over the last couple of decades, more and more homes (especially in Australia) have decided to make the switch from ‘regular’ electricity to solar powered energy.

Solar power can be used to power anything that is currently powered by electricity. At the moment, due to the amount of knowledge on solar panels, the majority of people/businesses only use solar panels for ‘small’ appliances; however, there are successful buildings that generate all of their electricity through solar panels.

What Are the Benefits of Solar Panels  Appliances?

  • No Costs – Once all the products have been installed, you do not have to pay for any of the energy that you generate through your solar panels. Some tariffs can even buy back some of the energy that you have produced. Therefore, over time, you can actually make money from your own ‘solar farm’ of sorts.
  • Save The World – Regardless of your view on global warming, it cannot be denied that the world is currently going through some of the worst natural disasters it has ever seen. For many, this is largely due to the burning of non-renewable resources. Clean sources like solar energy do not emit any dangerous substances, smells or even make any noises; therefore, it is considered one of the best choices.
  • It’s Going To Happen – By the looks of things, every house will have to be powered through solar energy, even if it will not be for half a century or more. BP estimates that in 30 years over 50% of our electricity will be generated through solar panels.
  • Government Backed Schemes – The government is getting a lot of stick from various campaigner groups telling them to lower greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, the government have rolled out schemes to save money for those that sign up to ‘green energy’ solar plans. These benefits range from money off initiates, to tax cuts for businesses. You need to make sure that you check out your needs before deciding which is the best initiative for you.
